Sample Out of Range - Too High

Symptom
Qubit Fluorometer screen indicates samples are OUT OF RANGE (too high), sample fluorescence exceeds highest standard
Common Causes
  1. 1 Sample concentration exceeds assay detection range
  2. 2 Using high sensitivity (HS) assay for highly concentrated samples
  3. 3 Too much sample volume used in assay mixture
Solutions
  1. 1 Dilute sample and repeat measurement
  2. 2 Use smaller volume of sample in assay (less than standard volume)
  3. 3 Switch from HS assay to BR (Broad Range) assay for lower sensitivity
  4. 4 For DNA: switch from Qubit DNA HS to Qubit DNA BR Assay
  5. 5 For RNA: switch from Qubit RNA HS to Qubit RNA BR Assay
