Steps
1
Prepare and insert the pod holder
Screw the pod holder onto the pod and insert it into the machine with the pod facing left. Engage the piston to secure the setup.

2
Vitrify the sample via touch screen
Use the machine's touch screen commands to initiate the vitrification process, which will cool the sample and release the pod holder into the liquid nitrogen bath.
▶ 00:20
3
Maintain sample in liquid nitrogen bath
Keep the vitrified sample submerged in liquid nitrogen to prevent deritrification. Place the pod in the socket and begin unscrewing the pod holder.
▶ 00:31
4
Precool tools in liquid nitrogen
Before handling the platelet, precool the screwdriver and tweezers in the liquid nitrogen bath to maintain the sample's integrity.
▶ 00:50
5
Remove platelet from pod using tools
Use a precooled screwdriver and tweezers to unscrew the pod and carefully separate the platelet from the sapphire while keeping it submerged in liquid nitrogen.
▶ 00:57
6
Transfer platelet to storage container
Pick up the separated platelet with precooled tweezers and place it into the metal transfer container for storage or further processing.
