Steps

1
Prepare the P35 dish with hole

Obtain a P35 dish with a pre-drilled hole created by the engineering department. Sand the edges of the hole thoroughly to smooth them out, which will improve coverslip adhesion later.

▶ 00:12
2
Clean and dry the coverslip

Rinse the coverslip with methanol to remove any contaminants. Dry it completely using nitrogen gas before proceeding.

▶ 00:31
3
Prepare the epoxy glue

Obtain 5-minute epoxy adhesive and warm it in hot water for 2-3 minutes to make it more fluid and easier to apply.

▶ 00:51
4
Mix equal parts of epoxy

Dispense equal amounts from both epoxy components and mix them thoroughly until well combined.

▶ 01:36
5
Apply glue to the P35 dish

Apply the mixed epoxy around the edge of the hole in the P35 dish, positioning it slightly away from the edge to allow room for glue to spread.

▶ 02:22
6
Position coverslip on dish

Use a clean pipette tip to carefully place the coverslip on top of the P35 dish. Break off any excess coverslip edges that extend beyond the dish.

▶ 03:29
7
Ensure proper glue distribution and curing

Verify the coverslip sits flat on the P35 and spread the glue evenly around the edges. Allow the epoxy to cure completely.
