Isolate RNA with the PureLink™ RNA Mini Kit (qPCR step 2)
Protocol
Difficulty
intermediate
Steps
1
Unbox kit and identify components
Open the PureLink RNA Mini Kit and lay out all components including lysis buffer, wash buffers 1 and 2, RNA-free water, recovery tubes, collection tubes, and spin cartridges.
▶ --:--
2
Add lysed sample to collection tube
Transfer the lysed and homogenized cell or tissue sample into a collection tube containing a spin cartridge, where RNA will bind to the column matrix.
▶ 01:25
3
Centrifuge and wash column multiple times
Centrifuge the collection tube to pass the sample through the spin column, then repeat the washing process three times using wash buffers 1 and 2 to remove contaminants.
▶ 01:53
4
Transfer spin column to recovery tube
Remove the spin column from the original collection tube and insert it into a fresh recovery tube to prepare for RNA elution.
▶ 02:23
5
Elute RNA with water and centrifuge
Add RNA-free water to the top of the spin column and centrifuge to elute the purified RNA into the recovery tube below.
▶ 02:32
6
Collect final RNA sample
Remove the spin column, close and label the recovery tube containing the purified RNA in water. The isolation is complete.
▶ 02:48
