Paraffin-Embedded and Frozen Sections of Drosophila Adult Muscles
DOI: 10.3791/2438-v
What you'll learn
✓Prepare and fix Drosophila thoracic tissue for histological analysis
✓Generate paraffin-embedded sections for morphological examination
✓Create cryosections for protein localization and immunostaining
✓Detect lipid components in muscle tissue using specialized staining
Protocol
Biopharma Insights Identification of mechanisms underlying muscle damage is crucial. Here we present the histological technique for preparing paraffin-embedded and frozen sections of Drosophila thoracic muscles. This allows analysis of muscle morphology and localization of protein and other muscle cell components.
Difficulty
intermediate
Total time
~3-4 days (including fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining)
