Protocol
Subcutaneous implantation of osmotic pumps provides a convenient approach for prolonged and consistent delivery of compounds. This approach has been used extensively to study both abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms in mice.

Fill osmotic pumps with angiotensin II solution
Prepare osmotic pumps by loading with angiotensin II compound. This ensures consistent drug delivery over the implantation period.

Implant osmotic pump subcutaneously in mouse
Surgically place the filled osmotic pump in the subcutaneous space of the anesthetized mouse using sterile technique. Secure incision and allow recovery.

Use ultrasound, CT, or other imaging modality to visualize and measure aortic changes in angiotensin II-infused mice following implantation period.
