Steps
1
Assemble equipment and prepare workspace
Gather all required equipment from your basket and clamp the buret and feedback onto the retort stand. Put on gloves and goggles for safety.

2
Clean the pipette with distilled water
Remove the pipette from the stand and wash the insides by filling it a third of the way with distilled water. Close both ends and tilt to wash the bowl, then dispose of water into the sink. Repeat this process.
▶ 00:37
3
Fill pipette with acid and transfer to flask
Wash the pipette with the acid solution, then transfer 25 mL of acid into the pipette using the pipette filler. Transfer the 25 mL of acid into the conical flask and add 2-3 drops of indicator if needed.

4
Clean and prepare the buret for titration
Remove the buret from the stand and wash it with distilled water by filling a third of the way, closing both ends, and rinsing thoroughly including the tap. Repeat this washing process with the alkali solution.
▶ 01:39
5
Fill buret and remove air bubbles
Pour alkali into a beaker (70-100 mL), then fill the buret to the 0 mL mark at the top. Place the setup on a chair to avoid parallax error, open the tap to release air bubbles into a beaker, then return the setup to the table.
▶ 02:20
6
Prepare flask and conduct first trial
Remove the filter funnel from the buret. Place the conical flask under the buret tap with a white tile underneath for better color assessment. Open the tap and let the solution trickle at approximately two drops per second until the color changes, then turn off the tap and note the reading.
▶ 03:04
7
Perform accurate second and subsequent trials
Refill the buret to 0 mL if needed and note the initial volume. Using the rough reading from the first trial, release alkali until 1-2 mL before the endpoint, then release dropwise for accuracy. Note the final reading and repeat until you have two readings within 0.1 mL of each other.

8
Verify results and clean up equipment
Show your three titration readings to your teacher before dismantling the setup. Wash all glassware with tap water and return all equipment to its designated place.
